Now that archaeology has been buffed to a certain degree with new tol'vir digsites and a lower cooldown on Survey, it's time to get a little addon-serious about the secondary profession. This week, tol'vir rares never drop for Mathew, even though Mathew is a good boy who doesn't kill level 23 worgen while doing archaeology. Somehow I missed your "Aura Frames / TellMeWhen / NeedtoKnow / MaxDPS: I was using TMW when I was playing but am now confused as to which one of these is better" question. And he is incredibly busy working on about two dozen addons. I have provided Torhal (Archy's author) what help I could, and now it is up to him. Lo and behold, between the two methods I found fixes for Archy and ACP, although the fix for Archy only works in English. From there I clicked the Issues link in the top toolbar and read the issues. I checked the comments section of the addons on Curse/Twitch if that was no help I scrolled back to the top and clicked Project Page which took me to the Curseforge/Wowace developer page. I got both Archy and Addon Control Panel working following my own advice above. I'm looking at Archy and Addon Control Panel.
From there click the issues tab and read about the error. That will take you either to Curseforge or Wowace. I highly suggest installing BugSack and if you get errors then look up the addon on, read the comments section, and if you still get errors, click the Project Page link in the file info section at the top.
WOW ARCHY ADDON PATCH
You will probably find a lot of addons still broken with patch 7.3. I think you can replace Instance Portals with a HandyNotes plugin.Bagnon has been updated I think, but I MUCH prefer AdiBags and its various filter addons.BagSync is unnecessary if you already have Altoholic.Still works, just doesn't have the new rares. NPCScan vs SilverDragon - SilverDragon is current with 7.3 but Torhal is working on NPCScan.Also Pitbull does not support Boss frames. I switched to Stuf last year and don't regret it. Pitbull has more options and I used it for years.Recount/Skada/Details/etc - all the same although Recount is bloated even after turning modules off.Bazooka/ChocolateBar/TitanPanel/etc are all style preference-based.DBM is more heavy but not so much you'd notice. BigWigs /w LittleWigs vs DeadlyBossMods - total preference.Replace Gatherer with GatherMate2 as it is more current.I am especially looking for opinions as to whether there is any information duplication in all the addons that I am using. Setting up all the addons for various characters takes quite a bit of time, and your help will reduce that time substantially. Addons for me are an important part of the game and hence I would like to be well-prepared with regards to them before I renew my subscription. I would be most obliged if you guys could give me your recommendations. I am considering returning to WoW after quite a long time, and to that end I was compiling a list of addons that I used to use, bolstered by suggestions from different players on youtube and forums.
